• Europe Images International/M5 distributes a variety of documentaries including many difficult-to-find films about European dancers and companies. Check out their online extracts for video clips.

• Dance Channel TV offers a variety of uploaded films from various promoters, including Eifman Ballet. Other dance styles include everything from belly dance, ballroom, flamenco and tap. Check out Men of the Ballet Russe clips.

• Vodeo.tv  is a French site that offers video on demand for a fee. You can watch clips for free on their site. Among their offerings are films by Nils Tavernier such as Tout près des étoiles, documentaries on Rosella Hightower, Yvette Chauviré, Béjart, Jean- Christophe Maillot, and Eva Yerbabuena.

• The ina.fr site also provides videos, of television broadcasts for a fee.  You can watch 5 minute clips for free however, before paying for them. Click on Art et Culture then Danse to choose a clip.  There is a 1987 panel with Maya Plisetskaya, Roland Petit, and Dominique Khalfouni. A 1996 clip of the defilé and Petit's La Loup. All in French, so a great way to practice.

• Opus Arte is a DVD distributor based in the UK. Video clips on their site include Cloud Gate's Cursive II, The Royal Ballet's Coppélia, Firebird & Les Noces, POB's Jewels, PNB in Balanchine's Midsummer Night's Dream, SOfiane Sylve and the Dutch National in Sleeping Beauty, and the Royal Swedish in Swan Lake, as well as many Australian ballets.

• VAI Music also distribute dance DVDs with many great archival performances.  Some clips on their site include: Erik Bruhn, Stars of the Russian Ballet, Plisetskaya Dances,  Ananiashvili & Int'l Stars, Karen Kain's Giselle, Plisetskaya in Swan Lake, Carmen, Humpbacked Horse, and Anna Karenina, Fonteyn in Cinderella and in Sleeping Beauty.

• Arthaus Musik has no clips online, but is a German company that distributes DVDs of Alvin Ailey, Hans van Manen, Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Christopher Bruce, Maguy Marin, ABT, Houston Ballet, Cloud Gate, Grupo Corpo, Bear in mind that some of their DVDs are encoded for region 2 and 5 (Europe & Asia), so you'll need a player that works for that region.

• Kultur also has no clips online, although they distribute many wonderful dance DVDs that are mainly region code 1 (North America)
