Eat and Drink

  • Trattoria Cibreo- via Andrea del Verrocchio 5r, 055-234-5853.  Possibly the best food deal in all of Florence.  The food is from the same kitchen as the Michelin-starred Ristorante around the corner, but the prices are not. Cash only, no reservations accepted.

  • I Fratellini- via dei Cimatori 38r, 055-239-6096. A terrific place for lunch or a snack near OrsanMichele, Fratellini serves up tasty little sandwiches for a couple of euros, an ombra for another two euros and you've got a recipe for happy.

  • Le Volpi e L'Uva- Piazza de Rossi 1r, 055 239-8132. The perfect little place to rest your feet, just on the Oltrarno side of the Ponte Vecchio.

  • La Maremma- Via Giuseppe Verdi 16r, 055 240-972.  A wonderful, warm place with clean, modern takes on the traditional Tuscan fare. Reserve ahead.

  • Trattoria Anita - via del Parlascio.  On the budget lists in many guidebooks, Anita is a relaxed, inexpensive  and informal place with solid fare and large portions.

  • Trattoria Za-Za- Piazza Mercato Centrale 26r. It looks touristy, but the food at this place, right next to the Mercato Centrale, is undeniably good.  Reserve ahead if you want to sit inside.

  • Cafe Rivoire- via Vaccherecchia 4r, Piazza della Signoria.  Pricey, but an undoubtedly picturesque place to take your hot chocolate.

  • Da Sergio (Trattoria Toscana Gozzi Sergio)- Piazza San Lorenco 8r, 055 281-941.

  • Le Mossacce- via Proconsolo 55r, 055 294-361. Reserve ahead.
